NB - The iconic Art Deco 'Constellation' clock was created in 1932 by Puiforcat's fourth-generation, Jean Elysee Puiforcat a revered silversmith who was one of the French Art Deco movement's most significant designers.
The piece features Puiforcat designed digits that have since become a symbol of the Art Deco typology worldwide. Today, the workshop’s masters pay homage to the legacy of the leader-figure of the atelier, and released a limited edition of 50 Constellation Clocks identical to the one originally crafted by Puiforcat at a cost of $46,400.
The atelier partnered with one of Switzerland's most revered watchmakers to improve the mechanical system with a 21-day movement. The clock has become a sought after object and an epitome of Jean Puiforcat's design vocabulary. Works by Puiforcat are held in the permanent collections of major museums including the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and the Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris among others.
A good clean original and period example in excellent condition with only some very light and very minor marks commensurate with age. The movement is running as of this condition report and the clock appears to keep good time.
