C. S. Lewis (1898-1963) - An autographed 'Magdalen College, Oxford' headed note card, reading on both sides "My dear Joiner - 1. Thank you v. much for your letter it was kind of you to write and it was complete news to me. I don't think there was any ground for consigning it to the waste paper basket! - Provided you and I both realise that I've been merely a conductor or life line in the matter. As you will remember in the O.T a donkey once prophesied. (verso) 2. Can you come and take wine and coffee with me on Tue. next (the 4th) at 8:15? You will, I think, meet all the others there. I hope you won't think it an affection if I ask for an occasional mention in your prayers: you see I'm an inveterate scrounger, Yours, C. S. Lewis", 9cm x 11.5cm.

Note card paper is yellowing/discoloured with age. A few minor marks/ stains. Light paper handling marks otherwise good.
