An early 19th Century Staffordshire earthenware jug, circa 1831, of footed baluster form with shaped rim and foliate scroll handle, gilt heightened puce printed decoration commemorating the Coronation of King William IV and Queen Adelaide depicting bust portraits of the monarchs and titled "Our Beloved King William" and "Our Amiable Queen Adelaide', with additional memorial dedication under spout, David Finney 1832, height 24cm.

The coronation of King William IV and Queen Adelaide took place on Thursday, 8 September 1831, at Westminster Abbey. William IV had ascended the throne on 26 June 1830, following the death of his brother, George IV. At 64, he became the oldest person to assume the British throne until the accession of King Charles III in 2022.
