London delft, A Royal Commemorative bowl circa 1760, the interior with painted script ‘God Save the King’ within a simple wriggle and line border, the exterior painted with foliate boughs and floral sprays flanking paneled fence, diameter 23cm.
Probably made to commemorate George III's Accession. He became heir to the throne on the death of his father in 1751, succeeding his grandfather, George II, in 1760.
Chips and losses to rim, hairline crack around base.
