£1,050
A late 18th Century longcase clock with green painted and Chinoiserie lacquered detail, the caddy shaped top over a later associated 8-day movement with an 11.75 inch brass broken arch dial, with silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed 'David Bowen, Swansea', the trunk door detailed with buildings, a bridge and figures within garden scenes, all over a plinth base, height 219cm.
There are two replacement weights, a pendulum and winder present. As mentioned in the catalogue description, the dial and movement appear to be later associated to the case as the dial does not quite fit the door aperture and the cheeks of the case have been raised to accomodate the seat board.
