A pair of late 18th Century pearlware pottery Royal commemorative plaques, circa 1780, high relief moulded profile portraits of George III and Charlotte, polychrome decorated in tones of pink, yellow, green and blue, both within moulded scalloped frames with acanthus leaf mount, height 24cm. (2)
The coronation of King George III and Queen Charlotte took place on 22 September 1761 at Westminster Abbey in London. This grand ceremony marked the beginning of George III's long reign and introduced his consort, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, to the British public in a formal and symbolic way.

Queen Charlotte plaque has hairline cracks visible in photograph, some expected age related wear to high points on frames.
