A late Victorian sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1890, the cabochon-cut sapphire, claw set within a bezel of twelve old brilliant-cut diamonds, above a pierced mount, with diamond set shoulders, on a plain gold band, total weight 4g.
NB - The sapphire has had a verbal report from the Gemmological Certification Services stating that the sapphire is approximately 4.7 carats and is of Basaltic deposit with no evidence of heating.
